WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! My husband and I loved our time at the Skagway Musher's Camp. All the staff were knowledgeable and fun to be around. The dogs were amazing and so happy.

May 2023 - Donna B.

So glad we did the Mushers camp. It was all I hoped it would be! We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Nov 2022 - Michael H.

Easy pickup at the pier. Beautiful scenery on the drive to the camp. Very organized, no standing around waiting for something to start. Fun unimog ride up to the dogs. After the cart ride, we were introduced to each of our dogs and had a time to pet them. Musher kindly took photos of us with the dogs. Afterwards, we went back down and got to see some pups and then to the nursery to hold the newborn puppies. A couple of retired dogs too in a really cute enclosure. Gift shop/coffee bar nice. Can t say enough about how good this excursion is. Don t miss it! You can zip line at home!

Sep 2022 - Craig O.

We absolutely loved this excursion. It was so much fun to see how much the dogs love pulling and how excited they get to go. And the puppies! Wow, that alone was worth it. highly recommend, a great experience and I hope to come back and do it again.

Sep 2022 - Mary Ann K.

We enjoyed our hands-on dogsled and sled dog excursion. Not only did we get a thrilling sled ride, but we were able to meet the team and pet them, hold puppies, and learn from a very knowledgeable musher! My only wish is that I could have stayed with the dogs and trainers all day!

Sep 2022 - Laina W.

Our family had a wonderful time, this was by far our favorite excursion of the trip. The hosts were all friendly and informative and did a great job!

Aug 2022 - Dale C.

Best independent tour we have ever taken! Jenna was our wonderful bus driver and tour guide. Interesting fact: there is no hospital or Dr. in Skagway, just PA's. Eric was our Unimog driver and it was his birthday. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" Eric. Our sled dog ride was with musher John, who was also the owner of dogs. Very well organized tour. Got to hold puppies, even a 9 day old litter pup, that still had his eyes shut. Jenna did a moment of silence before we left the dog musher camp - it was to be sure there wasn't a whimpering puppy on the bus! She also stopped at an unusual road sign, so we could take a photo! We would highly recommend taking this wonderful tour.

Aug 2022 - Susan G.

This was a terrific experience including the "mog" ride and wheeled dog sled ride, plus puppies. Great expedition for all ages and great company to deal with.

Aug 2022 - Travis R.

Dogs were awesome! Tour guide and mushers were informative and fun.

Aug 2022 - Barbara H.

What a wonderful excursion! Petting the puppies was my favorite! Loved the enthusiasm of the dogs preparing to run!

Jul 2022 - Linda K.

We had a wonderful time on this excursion! The Unamog ride, dogsledding, and interacting with the Iditarod pups were all so much fun. We found the actual dogsledding portion shorter than expected (I think under 10 minutes?) but we understand the dogs need to rest.

Jul 2022 - Heather M.

We had the best time! Garrett our driver was so knowledgeable about the area & had great stories to share! The dogs & puppies were my favorite part of our whole trip!!!

Jul 2022 - Thomas R.

Absolutely wonderful excursion! Our group of 6 adults and a 5 year old thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, enjoying everything from the sled dogs to the puppies. The views along the way were breathtaking, and our guide was friendly, funny, and energetic. I ve been recommending this excursion to all of my friends. Thank you!

Jun 2022 - Christina O.

This was the best excursion and will be recommended to family and friends for sure! Our guide, Chris, was funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the area and doggies. All the folks we met were so nice and engaging, you could really tell they love their jobs. The dogs are all so lovable and eager to run! The trip was different layers are awesome, Not sure how they could make it even better. Great job and thank you for making our trip so much more amazing. The overlook stop was the cherry on top!

Jun 2022 - Mark Y.

Dog sledding was a great experience. There were 2 weeks old puppies that guests were allowed to hold. They were so cute. The staff were so friendly.

Jun 2022 - Wendy W.

We had the BEST time on this trip. We easily met up with Chris at the dock. He was very personable and knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed his commentary as we drove to the site. Ashley then took over and she was just as delightful. She took us up to the camp along with Andy who drove the MOG. We had a great time just getting to the camp that even we met the dogs and went on the sled it just continued to make our day perfect. All the guides were knowledgeable and you could tell that they really like what they do... Not to mention how much they love the dogs.

Jun 2022 - Monica C.

This is a god adventure especially with kids ....the dogs looked different than we expected nevertheless, the "dog sledding" was fun. The ride to the mountain was also nice with awesome views! We wish the excursion was a bit longer - did not get a chance to look around the gift shop and barely had time to get a light snack.

Jun 2022 - Todd B.

Incredibly fun. The crew was fantastic and really helped us to embrace the experience with the dogs. Thank you!

Jun 2022 - Randy L.

What an awesome experience. It exceeded my expectations. Well worth the money spent mainly because of tour guide Pete. He was so knowledgeable and sharing. Pete shared so many awesome stories with the whole family and at the end, we felt like family. Thank you Pete for making our Alaska trip unforgettable.

Jun 2022 - PATRICK R.

Everyone enjoyed getting to hold and pet the baby dogs. All members of the Musher camp had a passion for what they did and were appreciative of the returning visitors. Riding the dry sled demonstrated how much the dogs loved what they were doing.

Jun 2022 - Margaret Z.

We loved this excursion! Beautiful scenic drive up to the camp, and we got to spend lots of time with both the dogs and the puppies. Highly recommend!

Jun 2022 - Caroll B.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our bus driver was great. He gave lots of good information and had a great sense of humor. Enjoyed the dog sled ride and meeting all the dogs. The only negative was we were very rushed to see the puppies and to visit the gift shop. We only had about 5 minutes in the gift shop so they lost out on any sales.

Jun 2022 - Donna C.

What an awesome excursion!! The guides were so knowledgeable and presented the facts in an interesting way. Cuddling the puppies was an excellent way to end the tour.

Jun 2022 - Renee S.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Skagway Musher s Camp & Sled Dog Adventure. All employees we met were very professional, friendly, highly intelligent about dog sledding and care for their dogs, and fun to be around. My grandsons were with us and had the time of their lives experiencing the huge Mack trucks we rode in to the campsite as well as the dog sledding ride, and finally getting to hold and play with the pups! What a wonderful excursion for the whole family! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wish I could give this excursion 10 stars! Everyone involved was amazing!! Our driver who I do not remember his name but know he drives a bus for seniors, was absolutely wonderful. Everyone that we met on this excursion were extremely knowledgeable helpful and delightful. It was extremely obvious that they loved their job which is so refreshing. I highly highly recommend this excursion!!!

Oct 2019 - Farah A.

This was an incredible experience!! Our guide was Becki who will be participating in 2020 Iditarod making it even more real and exciting.. to be able to see how the dogs are trained to getting to meet someone who is actually qualifying for Iditarod! The ride up the UNIMOG was truly out of the world that we will never forget.. every aspect of the excursion was unique and memorable! I would highly recommend Alaska Shore Excursions to everyone!!

Oct 2019 - Norma K.

Absolutely loved this excursion. Tour guides were great; the dogs adorable & the overall experience was wonderful. Plus the weather was kind Would definitely recommend this excursion

Oct 2019 - Martin M.

Nice people and a very different excursion

Sep 2019 - Julie T.

We had the friendliest, most animated excursion guide ever! The drive from the dock to the camp was picturesque with very funny anecdotes along the way. Meeting the adorable dogs brought smiles to everyone's faces. Seeing how much they love to "work" was truly a joy.

Sep 2019 - Shelly O.

This was so much fun!! The dogs are all so sweet and they love being snuggled. Then of course the puppies, who doesn't enjoy puppy love. All the people were great too

Sep 2019 - Michelle K.

Great trip. Not enough time with the puppies and felt rushed after the Sled Ride, did not have enough time to talk with the musher about her dogs etc. Onsite photographer needs some lessons on taking photos as the ones for sale were quite blurry. But would recommend this tour.

Sep 2019 - Matthew R.

Super fun

Sep 2019 - Dawn G.

What a great experience. I loved learning about how these dogs are raised and taken care of and truly seeing how much they love what they are bred to do. Especially loved playing with one of the pups. Our tour guide Tom was AMAZING

Sep 2019 - Jorrel M.

Informative tour. We enjoyed learning about how the dog s are trained and also about the iditerod race. Lots of puppy time too which was fun!

Sep 2019 - Stephanie H.

The bus guide was very lively and our musher was very excited about his dogs and the dogs followed directions so well. We can't help but love the puppy part best though! They are too cute.

Sep 2019 - Julie G.

The whole experience was a wonderful, fun time. Loved the ride, the musher's presentation about the Iditarod, his narrating the ride while we went talking about the different dogs, petting the puppies, and the beauty of the drive up. Our driver (forget her name!) was wonderful and a fount of knowledge about the area. I would recommend to others.

Sep 2019 - Joshua S.

Decided to book after the glacier dog sled was closed. This was still a fun adventure. Learned a lot about the sled dogs. Who does not love holding a puppy. Great scenic ride to the camp.

Sep 2019 - Fran V.

Loved the musher camp, the guides were very informative and quick to answer any questions. This was my favorite day of the trip.

Sep 2019 - Dave B.

This was a really great excursion and it was fascinating to learn about how the dogs are trained for the Iditarod race. Of course, the highlight was actually getting to meet the dogs and hold the puppies! Our bus driver was great too, giving us a great deal of information about Skagway and the surrounding area.

Sep 2019 - Anja N.

great company and tour guide.

Sep 2019 - Helga S.

Great experience all around, thanks.....great & knowledgeable musher gal, good bus tour guide too. Wonderful unimog experience, we once owned a smaller version.

Sep 2019 - Louisa W.

The ride was only a mile but was a great value for the money.

Sep 2019 - Lisa D.

Great staff and super fun experience!

Aug 2019 - Judy L.

This was a fun adventure! We had a sled ride and also got to play with the puppies!

Aug 2019 - Lisa L.

I would absolutely do this excursion again. The drive out to the camp was pleasant and we learned all sorts of facts about the area from Ozzie. Once we got to the camp, we took a ride on the cart led by a team of dogs. We were able to ask the musher lots of questions about training and their jobs etc. Then we were able to greet those dogs. Afterward we were taken to the puppy area. I wish we had a little more time here and more than one litter of puppies to share with the group but we did get enough time with the pups and had a few minutes to walk through the gift shop and ask more questions. The ride back was pleasant as well. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you.

Aug 2019 - Jennifer C.

This was a wonderful experience. Our whole group of 11 people thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. It was certainly one of the highlights of our trip.

Aug 2019 - Wai Kuen C.

We enjoy the dog sleding very much. The dogs are very lovely.

Aug 2019 - Jim L.

If you are a dog lover this is a must. Great guides, with wonderful stories about their dogs. Then you get to hold the puppies.....a real treat. Would do this again!!!

Aug 2019 - Courtney E.

OMGOSH!! Best experience I've ever had. The crew were amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable. The dogs....what can I say about the dogs!! They were all so sweet, lovable and ready to run. Never seen such enthusiasm in an animal before. To top it off, being able to hold and interact with the puppies is something I will never forget. Wish I could put a bunch of them in my pockets and brought them home, TOO CUTE!!! Thank You to the Skagway Musher's Camp and sled Dog Adventure, this is a memory this ole girl won't forget!!!

Aug 2019 - Kenneth S.

Terrific experience being with the dogs and racers. Riding the buggy pulled by the dogs was exciting. Thanks for a fun day.

Aug 2019 - Surani S.

Wonderful excursion for the whole family. My kids loved every minute of it and so did everyone else in our group. Chris was a great guide

Aug 2019 - Megan H.

Great excursion! Organized and very fun for all ages. Highly recommend!

Aug 2019 - Lawrence D.

Disappointing in the ride only was "around the block" less than a 10 minute musher ride. The children loved the dogs. A good informative talk about the iditarod but not enough time to enjoy the entire camp.

Aug 2019 - Ron R.

We had the best time riding on the dogsled and petting the puppies!

Aug 2019 - Kathleen G.

Wonderful excursion. Beautiful 30 min. ride from dock to base of musher camp. Rode on a monster type truck up the mountain to the mush camp. The children on board especially loved the ride up. Dogs were harnessed and ready to go on a ride. It was so much fun. After the ride was over, we were able to pet the dogs. They were so sweet. We then went back down the mountain and had an informative talk on the sport of mushing. It was then puppy time. We were able to hold the puppies for a few minutes and it was so fun. My husband and I loved this excursion and know any child or adult would love it too.

Aug 2019 - Alice W.

My teenager came back from this excursion saying, this was the best day of my life! Thank you, Alaska shore Excursions, for a seamless pickup and for giving us a better deal than if we had booked from the ship!!

Aug 2019 - Susie W.

Fun filled excursion. Staff were friendly and informative. The puppies at the end were the icing on the cake.

Aug 2019 - Andrew S.

Top trip and helped prepare us for our new puppy waiting for us on our return home. Good to see the dogs benefitting from the tourist sleds in the summer to prepare them for the winter races. The drive out to the camp is good and the drive up the mountain tracks in the Kubota's is exciting. Prepare yourself for some corny jokes from your guide!

Aug 2019 - Louis C.

My children really enjoyed this. Highlight of tour

Aug 2019 - Mary L.

Rich, Libby and Aaron were all awsome guides. I learned so much about the dogs, sledding and the lifestyle! This was a family trip and we had an 18 month old with us. She enjoyed every bit of it as much as the adults did. I would highly recommend anyone to take this excursion.

Exellent experience, the tour guide was friendly, informative and knowledgeable-thank you Garrett. The camp was clean, professional and the animals seemed very well cared for. The ride on the unimog was awesome and the sled dog ride was a bucket list memory for us. Loved that there were Iditarod dogs on our team. Ryan Reddington was an interesting and fascinating speaker. Of course, we especially loved cuddly the puppies!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience of a lifetime!!

Jul 2019 - Carolyn C.

Great experience and fun spending time with the dogs.

Jul 2019 - Matthew G.

Outstanding cruise excursion. Great opportunity to learn about sled dog racing, get to experience being pulled by an actual team and also play with the puppies. Our group included ages 6-42 and everyone enjoyed it. Great company, wonderful employees and nice facilities. Perfect choice for a half day adventure leaving you time to explore the town before having to re-board your cruise.

Jul 2019 - Elizabeth D.

This was AWESOME! A must do adventure if you are in Skagway. Chad and Michael and all the staff are wonderful. Our favorite excursion! Puppies!

Jul 2019 - Christine B.

What a fabulous experience! The mushers we met loved their dogs and were pleased to share them with us. The dogs were so excited to pull the sledges and were very happy to be petted. The puppies are adorable. We felt it was a win win situation as we helped acclimatise the dogs and they got their exercise but we so enjoyed the ride and the puppy experience. Great staff - very friendly and knowledgeable. Shouldn't be missed.

Very educational and well planned. We had a great time and would recommend this to any dog lover.

Nice excursion. Grandkids loved it. Playing with the puppies was fun for all of us.

Ossy our guide was fantastic his joy and love of life was contagious. My husband and I intend to do another trip to Alaska and I will definitely do this again

Jun 2019 - Kimberly M.

Great experience start to finish. Our tour guide was very knowledge and gave a great tour of Skagway before getting to the Musher Camp with fun facts about the city through the years. Once at the Musher camp the experience got even better. We loved the ride in the Unimog up to the sled dogs, our sled dog driver was awesome gave us lots of information and took pictures for us, and who doesn't love snuggling puppies. I would highly recommend.

Jun 2019 - Frank H.

The excursion was amazing. These dogs are great. The mushers and staff were superb. I'd recommend it to everyone. This is not something you get to do everyday.

Jun 2019 - Angelo L.

Amazing! Simply the best tour we took in Alaska. This shore excursion was booked solid through my cruise line. I searched online and found Alaska Shore Excursions. Not only did they have room for us, I saved over 0. Trust me, take this excursion, the dogs are sweet and excellent athletes. With the mountain air and the dogs barking, you feel like your really in Alaska. The puppies don't get me started on the puppies. We could have spent the whole day just with them. Big Thumbs Up!

Jun 2019 - Clare S.

Great fun and an absolute must for dog-lovers. The Sled ride was amazing and even I as a less than enthusiastic dog person loved meeting the trainees and puppies at the end of the afternoon.

Jun 2019 - Robin M.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, from the drive out there, to learning about the dogs and their training, to the sled ride, to getting to know the musher, to the educational session with an ADIRONDACK race participant, and finally to playing with the 6 week old puppies. Loved it all and highly recommend this excursion!

Jun 2019 - Billie B.

Not sure what I expected but it was awesome! From the informative ride to the dogs and their mushers to the time with them, it was great! Then ending with seizing the puppies and learning more from the older mushers answering all the questions made it a great adventure

Jun 2019 - Allison E.

Everyone with the tour was friendly and made the whole experience the best part of my Alaskan cruise. I wish we'd had a little more time with the puppies though.

Jun 2019 - Karen W.

Jun 2019 - Roben H.

Wasn't what we expected. Thought there would be more scenery and longer trails. Never expected to go around the same loop however many times it was. Would not recommend. Too expensive for what you got.

Jun 2019 - Rose S.

May 2019 - Christine H.

Fun and everyone was GREAT!

May 2019 - Merete L.

I booked this excursion for myself and two travel buddies. We had an absolute blast from start to finish! Our drivers were a lot of fun, very knowledgeable and only concerned that we have a great time. The lady musher, whose name escapes me now, was also a lot of fun, stopping to man the camera for us to have pictures. Knowledgeable and eager to share info about the dogs and all the wherefores about them. What a pleasure to meet Ryan Reddington and hear his story. And the puppies were so fun to hold and play with. Just a great day!

May 2019 - ONEITA H.

This is an awesome adventure. I would highly recommend to one sitting on the fence.

May 2019 - Alicia F.

Alicia & Freddy Sydney-Australia

Sep 2018 - Winney W.

Loved this excursion. The guide (Chris) who met us at the pier was wonderful, everyone was so friendly and easy to find. They had a schedule that they followed so that it would not descend into chaos when multiple groups showed up. I wish the sled ride was longer because I could not get enough of it. We were a group of 3 and the sled fits about 6 people. It was unfortunate that we did not get to sit in the front (that's where all the best views were). We sat near the musher in the back and she was telling us about her pack. It was nice to learn a bit about how she trains them. Then we got to take pictures with them and they were so well behaved. Pure muscle in those dogs. We then got to play with the puppies and it was amazing. The puppies were so heavy and active and so soft. Love this, would definitely recommend

Sep 2018 - Grace G.

Loved spending time with the puppies. Wish the ride with the dogs was longer but enjoyed everything about the tour.

Sep 2018 - Kimberly G.

This was a great experience! Our guide, Thomas, was awesome. He was super fun and had a great sense of humor. The dogs were perfect.

Sep 2018 - Judith S.

Excellent excursion meeting dogs and mushers and having a ride in the wheeled trolley pulled by the dogs. The information from all the guides was great and well delivered. The puppies were delightful

Sep 2018 - Kimberly S.

This was a wonderful adventure. The secenery getting up to the mushers camp is just beautiful and worth the 25 minute drive. Our tour guide/driver was very informative about the area. The mushers camp is definitely set up for tourists and kids are sure to love it. You can't go wrong with the sled and ride and holding the cute puppies at the end. I would highly recommend this excursion.

Sep 2018 - Lori P.

Our tour guide Austin was funny and made the experience very enjoyable. This is a great excursion for the whole family. We wish we got to ride on the sled for a longer time than we did (only 1 mile). Our negative is that they pack the "sled" with multiple families and our sled was so full that my husband had to stand on the back with the musher. We felt for what we paid he should have had a seat as well. They gave us no other option as all the sleds were fully packed. The mushers were very knowledgeable and we learned about the history of the Iditarod. After we got to hold puppies of different ages.

Sep 2018 - Mary-Anne B.

This was definitely, by far, the best tour for the money. The guides were fun and informative. The sled ride was super. And the dogs! Oh such lovely dogs. And the puppies were just begging for affection. Thank you, Kevin and Austin. You made it a super adventure.

Sep 2018 - Mitchell V.

This a fun time, getting to see these wonderful dogs and how they love to run. These are some of the same dogs and mushers that run in competition. But holding the little pups was the best.

Sep 2018 - Jessica B.

I took a cruise through alaska with this stop in skagway to meet the sled dogs and I think it was my favorite thing I did on my whole vacation. The dogs were unbelievably strong and ready to run and soon as we got there! I was very happy we got to meet and hold the puppies but I also really enjoyed being able to pet and hang out with the sled dogs too!

Sep 2018 - Brian M.

What an experience! This was a great excursion, everyone was so nice and the only downfall was wanting to take a puppy home!

Sep 2018 - Michael S.

Excellent experience! Everyone one was so nice and informative. Love the experience, the bus ride up and of course the dogs!

Sep 2018 - Karla M.

The excursion was light and fun. My kids had a great time and the guides were nice. I would recommend this trip.

Sep 2018 - Deanna T.

The ride to and from the camp was beautiful, breathtaking at times and informative. At the camp, it was interesting (even thrilling) to see the dogs's excitement and to experience them pulling the land "sled". We tried to pick different types of activities throughout our trip, and this was different and did not disappoint. GREAT EXCURSION!

Sep 2018 - Susan N.

One of the best cruise excursions we have ever done!

Sep 2018 - Sharon H.

Enjoyed this very much. Learnt a lot. Staff very helpful and informative

Aug 2018 - Joseph L.

My daughters had a great time on this excursion especially enjoying the time they had with the dogs and puppies

Aug 2018 - Ydette A.

This was such a fun adventure. It was interesting to learn about the dogs and how they work and train.

Aug 2018 - Richard A.

Wow. We thought it was something watered down for tourists but these were real dogs and real mushers, just no snow. Great fun!

Aug 2018 - LaDonna B.

Informative and fun shore excursion. Nice facilities and staff training the dogs. Staff was fun!

Aug 2018 - RICHARD P.

We had a great time at the Skagway musher's camp and dog sled adventure. All the staff were terrific and all transfers were a breeze. Our bus driver was hilarious and gave great info. Because of him, we got a better sense of Alaska and learned a lot. The trip up the mountain on the vehicle was pretty exciting and the scenery was breathtaking. It was true what all the reviews said about the dogs. When they heard us coming they went nuts barking with excitement! The trip around the track was fun to see how the dogs worked together. We enjoyed the informative talk afterwards and of course, loving on armfuls of puppies! I would highly recommend this tour.

Aug 2018 - Rhona P A.

The fun begins when you are picked up. The ride up, and finally the ride with these amazing dogs. The history, that was shared is incredible, and of course being able to see them as puppies to adults is quite a treat. Great experience.

Aug 2018 - Karen H.

This was a great experience. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The dog sled ride was really fun and they let you interact with them after the ride. The puppies are adorable.

Aug 2018 - Carmen J.

This was an A+ excursion! We had a great driver (Austin) and he gave his a lot of great information about the area. The dogs were wonderful and well taken care of. Having Ryan Redington there speaking to us about the Iditarod and the dogs was priceless. We loved every moment - especially cuddling puppies! We had a group of 4 adults and 2 children and we all loved it!

Aug 2018 - Irina C.

Fun and very informative.

Aug 2018 - Veronica E.

So awesome to learn all about these hard working dogs ! Playing with the pups was the ultimate treat. Our bus driver and tour guide were sooo great as well. It was a little shorter of an excursion than i thought and would have loved to have had some more time with the puppies, but overall it is an excursion you don't want to miss!

Aug 2018 - Doreen R.

The guide, Kevin, was fun to ride up with because he talked about everything we were seeing. The Musher camp was fun, but very rushed. We didn't get to hold the puppies but for maybe one minute and then they wanted to take them away. We didn't get a lot of information about the dogs but the gentleman who gave the talk was open to questions.

Aug 2018 - Mary A.

We truly enjoyed this excursion. The guides were knowledgable and the puppies were adorable. Would have loved more "puppy time". Would definitely recommend.

Aug 2018 - Elizabeth D.

I was disappointed in the short ride with the dogs. Perhaps they do this because of dogs' well being. But the camp was extremely interesting. The guides were knowledgeable. Everyone was very professional and helpful. Great fun.

Jul 2018 - Amy L.

Our kids really enjoyed this tour. Without kids I probably wouldn't be interested much, but they had a blast.

Jul 2018 - Larry H.

This was the greatest excursions that I have ever "been on". My wife and I consider this to be the highlight of our Alaska Trip. We have some great pictures of the dogs and will always remember them. All of the individuals that we came in contact with on this excursion were wonderful. The gift shop had some really great merchandise. Your "website" for this excursion is wonderful. Please continue this excursion for everyone to enjoy. Thanks for everything.

Jul 2018 - Rebecca H.

Loved every part of this tour. So did our 2 year old .

Jul 2018 - George F.

Chris did a wonderful job keeping us entertained and informed during our ride out to the dog camp, at the camp and on the ride back into Skagway. We enjoyed the experience. The price was high, and we wouldn't pay to do it again, but we enjoyed ourselves and do not regret choosing this excursion.

Jul 2018 - Lourdes C.

Amazing tour. When we got off the cruise the tour guide was waiting for us. The ridev with the dogs was great and able to cuddle them was awesome. I also enjoyed the history of dog sledding. You must do this tour. Tour guides are very nice and friendly.

Jul 2018 - Kimberly S.

This excursion was AMAZING! Our tour guide, Kevin, was funny, informative, and friendly. Denver was our musher, and she has done the Jr. Ididerod! It was very cool to hear about her training, and the dog sled team she is building for her next race. You can tell the dogs just love to run! We got to greet and pet most of the dogs on our musher team after the ride. Oh and I should mention, just the drive up to the musher camp on the heavy duty trucks was wicked cool! That road is steep! I feel like puppy time is pretty much the icing on the cake for this highly recommended experience! We were in Skagway on a Carnival Cruise, but decided to support the local business instead of the cruiseline with our excursion dollars... Don't think, just book it!

Jul 2018 - Stephanne P.

How can you go wrong with puppies?!?! Keith, Ozzy and the rest of the crew were great! Lots of laughter and fun from the moment we were picked up at our ship to the moment we were dropped off - this was a great way to learn about the dogs and get a hands on experience - perfect for all ages - they snap some pics of you all along the way - my only complaint was the price of a pictures (which were great...but $$). We bought them anyway so if you are in a big group, it is more cost effective to but the whole lot.

Jul 2018 - Piedade O.

Great excursion, the guide Kevin was great and funny. Loved it, highly recommend it

Jul 2018 - Robert A.

A perfect excursion! Our guide Chris was amazing. Overall an incredible experience from start to finish.

Jun 2018 - Elizabeth T.

Awesome experience, beyond my expectations. The ride to the camp was great, the views are astonishing and they do a good job explaining the training process of the dogs. Will recommend to anyone interested!

Jun 2018 - Renae W.

Best excursion ever! Very informative and lots of time with puppies!

Jun 2018 - Shelly C.

So much fun!!!! My husband and I are still talking about how much fun we had!!! So cool to learn about sled dogs... This is definitely something to put on your bucket list to experience!! Great staff!!

Jun 2018 - Cindy D.

Fabulous excursion! We did not feel rushed when we wanted to spend time with the dogs. We learned so much from the tour!

Jun 2018 - Ann-Marie S.

Felt excursion with dogs was a bit short, however, guide was great and had total control over sled dogs!

Jun 2018 - Lory M.

This tour was great! It was one of the favorites on our trip. We learned a lot about mushing, the dogs and the Iditarod. The sledding was fun as was cuddling the adorable puppies! Loved it!

Jun 2018 - Matthew S.

Overall fun experience. Took us on the sled and then got to pet the dogs (even though one was not kid friendly and they did warn us about this). Then gave us some good information on the dogs and race. The guides were very informative on the dogs, and Skagway/Alaska itself. They were great. Only down side was that most of the puppies we saw/played with were tired and really only got to hold and play with one or two. Otherwise good experience that our 9 and 15 year olds enjoyed

Jun 2018 - Helen D.

This was excellent from start to finish and saved at least by not booking through the cruise ship! All very well organised, on time and made extra interesting by Garrod. It was a privilege to ride on the sled, pet the dogs and hear all about the Iditerod. The added bonus of the ride on the all-terrain vehicle was also excellent. Overall thoroughly recommended.

Jun 2018 - Sean M.

This was above and beyond our expectations. The crew were awesome and very knowledgable. We had a great time on the trip to the location, the actual dog sled ride, and the time with the puppies. I would recommend this to everyone. We loved it!!

Jun 2018 - Angelia H.

We loved the Skagway Musher Excursion! We learned so much from Kevin, our hilarious and fun-loving tour guide! My kids had a blast loving on the dogs and riding through camp. The camp is well structured, clean and beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Jun 2018 - Andrea W.

What a fantastic experience. Jarrett was a fun and extremely knowledgeable guide. The excursion gave us more opportunities to see wildlife as we went to and from the port. Would highly recommend this. Especially to families

Jun 2018 - Neil J.

We were on the Star Princess but booked this trip separately. We were very impressed with all aspects of the tour, from transportation from ship and back to the whole experience and found it value for money and would definitely recommend this tour.

Jun 2018 - STANLEY S.

Very enjoyable experience.

Jun 2018 - Richard J.

It was fun to see the puppies and our guide before we got to the camp was good. I felt like the "ride" in the dog sled left a lot to be desired. The dogs ran basically in a loop a couple times takes multiple stops to rest for a few minutes each time. Definitely no thrill factor. I would definitely do a glacier musher camp instead.

Jun 2018 - Alice B.

Wonderful experience. Great and informative bus driver and guides. Truly memorable experience.

Jun 2018 - Joseph Y.

Very short but fun experience!

Jun 2018 - Ross M.

This was an awesome excursion. We got to meet some really friendly dogs and learn all about how they train for their races. I only wish that the sled ride had been longer.

May 2018 - Claudette D.

We loved it. Everyone was great!

May 2018 - Brenda T.

We loved this one. We had do much fun.

May 2018 - Trevor P.

A very different experience and well recommended.

May 2018 - Percy H.

Fun little excursion however the dog sledding portion is pretty brief

May 2018 - Jacquelyn H.

Diverse and informative.

May 2018 - Donna U.

Fun day learning about sled dog racing and interacting with the dogs. Guides were very knowledgeable and made the whole excursion super interesting.

May 2018 - Margaret V.

I absolutely loved this. It,s too bad it takes quite a bit of time to get to the camp. One other thing I wish I had more time with the dogs and to check out the store. It was amazing to be pulled y 16 dogs.

May 2018 - Alan C.

From pick up to drop back to the ship this excursion was excellent.our guide/bus driver was friendly, knowledgeable, funny but also mindful of safety and care. The scenery on the way to the mushers camp was beautiful and unexpected. The actual dog sled ride was amazing and we never felt rushed. They gave us plenty of time with the dogs and explained everything about the team to us. Back down to the main camp and we were treated to a great talk by a lovely guy who has actually competed in the Iditirod race. Then plenty of time to nurse and socialise with the puppies. They were only 4 weeks old and so very cute. Time in the gift shop and to look at photos taken by one of the staff and then back down the mountain. Very clean amenities. I can highly recommend this excursion

May 2018 - Christina B.

Our guide was great. The dogs were so happy and sweet. The puppies were adorable. The sled ride was a lot of fun.

Sep 2017 - Philip M.

Great time. Learned a lot about dog sledding. Would do it again

Sep 2017 - Eric L.

Kevin our bus driver, Bud our Mercedes driver, and Abby our musher were beyond exceptional. Our group had two elderly adults with mobility issues and a toddler that isn't the most cooperative, and they took there time to assist and help us. Although my father-in-law is blind, he was entertained by Kevin on the transfers as we all were. Would definitely recommend and do it again.

Sep 2017 - Paul M.

Enjoyed the full experience. Interesting talk about the dog sled races in Canada.

Sep 2017 - Isela S.

This was a fantastic tour. One of the great highlights of our Alaska vacation! The tour guide and mushers were fantastic and very informative. It was worth the money! Recommend for any family.

Sep 2017 - Thomas Q.

By far the best ever. The dogs were very cute and extremely energetic. Although I liked the sled ride (loads of fun), the puppy portion of this was the show stopper. They were so cut and soft and lovable. This is definitely a must do for anyone. Should I come back, I will definitely do this again.

Sep 2017 - Beth E.

This adventure was amazing! Our guide Austin was great and our musher Abby answered all of our questions about her dog team.

Aug 2017 - Rae Ann P.

Fabulous adventure. My teenage girls, both dog lovers, really enjoyed the morning. The staff was perfect; a bit of fun, some interesting facts, and always asking how they can help. I would definitely recommend the adventure.

Aug 2017 - Kathleen S.

Fun for everyone. We enjoyed the ride, dogs and area we went to. If you don't want to go in a helicopter then this excursion is great.

Aug 2017 - Anna R.

Loved the experience.

Aug 2017 - Barry S.

This was a great excursion. Our guide was full of interesting information on the way out to the camp. Once we got to the parking area and exited the bus, we crossed a bridge over a large stream and it was full of thousands of big salmon heading upstream. I have seen this on TV but standing over the stream and seeing all those fish is amazing. At the base camp we took a monster truck straight up to the main launching area and that is quite a thrill. As the truck pulls into camp, nothing can prepare you for the excitement and noise from the dogs. 64 of them barking and eagerly pulling on their harnesses in excitement of pulling the sled. Amazing experience. We got to pet the dogs and learned all their names. After going back down the mountain, we had a presentation on the Iditarod race and then got to pet the puppies. Certainly a highlight. All in all, a terrific excursion.

Jul 2017 - John N.

Good Clean Fun for the whole family! We enjoyed the whole experience from pick up to drop off. Enjoyed every aspect of the adventure of course the kids enjoyed the puppy time the most!!

Jul 2017 - Carolle H.

Blake was very amusing! His funny stories and antics made the drive over from the cruise ship quite memorable. The musher camp was informative and provided a refreshing experience. The puppy play area was enjoyable - even though we were christened by one of the young residents. Buildings were clean and well maintained.

Jul 2017 - Karen L.

Great experience with the dogs and puppies. It was a lot of fun!

Jul 2017 - Maria A.

This was by far my favorite. Garrett was amazing in keeping everyone engaged in the tour. He was personable and safe. He made sure we got a lot out of the trip. Dakota the dog sledder was great especially for being so young. She answered all our questions. She was very knowledgeable. The camp was so nice especially since it was brand new. I will recommend this excursion to everyone.

Jul 2017 - Betsy S.

Great time. Wish the sled ride was longer

Jul 2017 - Andrew H.

The scenery on the ride to and from the camp was beautiful. The dogs were impressive and friendly, and of course everyone loves puppies.

Jul 2017 - Dawn T.

This was a lot of fun. Not only educational but very entertaining.

Jul 2017 - Holly S.

Great Excursion! I loved how personable the guides were, and the dogs were absolutely amazing! wish the time with them was longer!

Jul 2017 - Allison B.

This was our kids' excursion of the trip, and for good reason. It was a lot of fun from start to finish. Our guide, Blake, was informative and fun (and sometimes funny). The Musher's Camp is in a beautiful part of Skagway (not there is any part of Skagway that isn't beautiful), and the dogs were just a delight! The kids loved being pulled by them (that was a lot of fun for the adults too), and then getting to see and hold the puppies was a highlight for all!

Jul 2017 - Ken K.

This was probably my families favorite excursion. We enjoyed the trip up the mountain and being pulled by the dogs and learning about them and how they are trained. The trainers really enjoy their jobs and treat the dogs as part of the family. The really special part was seeing the baby puppies that were about 3 weeks old. We got to hold them, and even though the one my son was holding pooped on him, my son still loved this excursion. As a side note, this is the exact same excursion offered on the NCL Pearl as we saw our friends that booked directly through the cruise ship.

Jul 2017 - David H.

Fun time learning about the dog sled practices and got to the handle the pups.

Jul 2017 - Debra S.

Very good

Jul 2017 - Jeffrey R.

The Musher's camp excursion was great! The best part was playing with the 1 week old puppies and riding the summer sled. Out guide was very informative and knowledgabe of the Skagway area. A+++

Jun 2017 - Kimberly P.

Our musher was very personable and willing to answer all questions we had. It was a great experience!!!

Jun 2017 - Tracy H.

The mushers camp is a MUST DO in Skagway. Being able to ride the sled, meet the dogs, and learn all about the Iditarod from real mushers was the highlight of our Alaska trip. Our musher, Bones, was very informative. We absolutely loved Blake. He was entertaining, informative, and just an exceptional tour guide. All around excellent experience and so much cheaper to book through Alaska excursions than through the cruise ship.

Jun 2017 - Roxanne H.

What a great excursion for our entire family! The dogs sledding was a once-in-a -lifetime adventure, the puppies were truly adorable, the guides were friendly and informative, and the ride up the mountain in the military "monster" truck was exhilarating!

Jun 2017 - Gina M.

This was a great excursion. A fun time for adults and kids. Our kids loved it! Our guide was fun and informative. The ride in the "vehicle" up the hill was unexpected ha ha. The dogs were eager and excited to give us a ride and cuddling the puppy was the icing on the cake.

Jun 2017 - Jennifer K.

Great excursion. Only 11 people on the small bus that took us to the Musher's Camp so it wasn't overcrowded like many excursions. The wagon ride was fun and holding the puppies was fabulous! Our guide, Kevin, was informative and funny.

Jun 2017 - Kevin S.

Tons of fun! Kevin is a phenomenal tour guide.

Jun 2017 - Michael B.

Wonderful excursion!

Jun 2017 - Kim L.

Loved the Musher's Camp! It was fun interacting with the dogs and the trainers. This was definitely the highlight to my 9 year olds day in Skagway.

May 2017 - Tisha H.

This was the best part of our vacation! Blake was great! Thank you for a great experience.

May 2017 - Michael L.

Great fun with the dogs! Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a good time with the dogs and we did!

May 2017 - Jillian H.

The excursion was everything we hoped for! Our tour leader, Tim, was very informative and entertaining. The staff were all very friendly, and the dogs were adorable! I highly recommend this excursion to others.

Sep 2016 - James S.

My family and I really enjoyed the tour. Our bus driver, who had only worked there for one year, was enjoyable and made the 30 minute drive fun. We really enjoyed meeting the dogs, although my girls loved the puppies the best. My only disappointment is that we just did 3 laps in a circle with the dogs and would have liked to see a little more of the beauty of the mountain.

Sep 2016 - Mary B.

Loved the dogs!!!

Sep 2016 - Jaclyn T.

All staff was extremely nice and you can tell they love their dogs. They took our cameras during the sled ride and took photos of us on the sled and pictures of the dogs, which was really nice. Interesting learning about the Iditarod. Great excursion and would recommend!

Sep 2016 - Kimberlee P.

Excellent excursion. Would do it again, guides informative and friendly. Loved it and will recommend it to others.

Sep 2016 - Kasara M.

Lots of fun! The puppies were super cute and our tour guide made it lots of fun. The sled ride was pretty short but our musher was really informative. Learned a lot about the dogs and Iditorod. Just don't expect Siberian Huskies -- these are Alaskan Huskies :)

Aug 2016 - Stephanie G.

Enjoyable experience for me, husband, and 15 year old daughter. Operation was well run.

Aug 2016 - Edward C.

Fun trip in forest setting. Great for families.

Aug 2016 - Michaline Y.

This was a very professionally done tour. We were immediately taken to the top of the mountain by diesel vehicle for the sled ride. Dogs were harnessed and ready to go. Very congenial mushers who talked enthusiastically about their passion for mushing. Plenty of time to pet the dogs and handle the pups. Nice sit-down talk about the Iditarod experience. A must-do excursion. I've done it 3 times and would do it again.

Aug 2016 - Howard L.

We had a great time. Our driver & musher were very friendly & informative. We had sufficient time to mingle with the dogs & pups. Would definitely recommend this excursion!

Aug 2016 - Jordan S.

This was a good excursion and perfect to do with our young children!

Aug 2016 - Brook N.

Our tour guide, Joseph, and the puppies were the highlight of this trip. We were there on a rainy day, so the dogs were a bit wet and dirty, but they are still really sweet. The "dog sled" portion was a bit shorter than we expected and the talk about the Iditarod was a bit long (we were a little cold at that point). Holding the puppies at the end was the best. Also, our guide had a great sense of humor and he was very knowledgeable about the area even though he hadn't lived there very long. I would recommend it because it's unique to this area, but I wouldn't go again if I were to visit Alaska in the future.

Jul 2016 - Kelly H.

Any time you get to hold puppies, it is a great day. It was an informative and an interesting excursion.

Jun 2016 - TzuJen W.

Enjoyed the Musher's camp very much.

Jun 2016 - Lloyd M.

Our group of 6 really enjoyed the musher camp excursion in Skagway. It was entertaining, and very informative. The van driver was even entertaining! If you want to be pulled by champion Iditarod Alaskan Huskies, and if you want to hold Alaskan Iditarod Husky puppies...this is the excursion for you!

May 2016 - Angela C.

Amazing experience! The entire family enjoyed this and we are so glad we chose this excursion through Alaska Shore Excursions!

May 2016 - Laurie S.

We had a wonderful time! All the staff were wonderful, loved what they were doing, and were very knowledgeable.

May 2016 - Lydia S.

Our family of 16 had a wonderful experience. Our 2 year old granddaughter is petrified of dogs and was holding a puppy by the end of the trip. Great fun for the whole family ages 7 months to 65 years.

May 2016 - Douglas S.

This was our favorite excursion. The staff taught us much about the dogs and their training. The ride with the dogs on the sled was very cool! The scenery where the camp is located is breathtaking! A must do in Skagway!
