Excursion Overview

Eco-friendly fun by electric bike and a sail along the Taiya Inlet

Break away from the crowds on a self-guided e-bike adventure paired with sailing through the Taiya Inlet. One of the longest and deepest fjords in North America, the Taiya Inlet boasts beautiful scenery and hopeful sightings of Alaskan wildlife. This eco-friendly excursion is a fantastic way to spend your time in Skagway, Alaska!

Take a short stroll through the heart of downtown Skagway to check out your new chariot. The RadPower electric bikes are just like regular bikes, but with an electric motor that adds a boost of assistance while pedaling. This is adjustable depending on how hard you want to pedal or how fast you want to go. Prior experience riding a bicycle is necessary for this excursion.

For the next three hours, your self-guided bike tour will have you visiting a waterfall, scenic vistas, and the Gold Rush Cemetery. Bask in the history behind this historic Alaskan Gold Rush town. The fun doesn't stop there....end your bike tour at the small boat harbor and get ready to set sail.

Captain Brendan is ready to sail through the Taiya Inlet aboard a 50' sailing sloop. Sail through one of the most beautiful places on earth with waterfalls, hanging glaciers, and possible wildlife sightings. Light snacks are provided on board the sailboat for your enjoyment. Come join the adventure!

What a unique and wonderful tour! We had such fun riding the E-bikes around the area. Then we had a perfect day for sailing (a little chilly but blankets and hot beverages were provided). Highly recommend. The captain and first mate were so nice, knowledgeable and you could tell they love what they do!

Such a fun excursion. The first half was riding E bikes on a self guided tour around Skagway. Klondike electric was fabulous to work with. As a family of four we had one child who was 12 and did not meet the age requirement. However, we were excited to learn that they have a bike that will seat two, so we reserved it. They were very friendly and very thorough in providing details and direction. We were handed a map for our self guided tour, which was easy to follow. Our tour took us through beautiful scenery and some fun, stopping spots. The sailing portion was amazing as well. The crew of the House opscotch were so welcoming and made us feel like family. We saw some wildlife had some great conversations and enjoyed sailing the waters around Skagway. If we get back to Skagway, we would book this excursion again!

Thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. Nicole at the bike shop was great. Everything was ready to go. The transition to the sailboat was seamless. Brendan and Lynn were fantastic hosts on the sailboat. From hot coffee & tasty snacks, to blankets and beanbags, this was a great way to relax and enjoy time away from the crowds. Highly recommend.

The folks at the bike shop are super friendly and the bikes are in excellent condition. We got very unlucky with the weather. It rained the entire time and was about 50 degrees. We made the best of it because the tour happens rain or shine, but I don't think I would do it again in that kind of weather. With good weather, though, the biking would be lovely. The sailing, however, was great even with the cold, rainy weather. The sailboat was gorgeous and had a fantastic dodger to keep the elements out. There was even a heater in the cockpit! The owner of the boat clearly has lots of sailing experience and gave us a gorgeous tour of the bay. We also got to hear all about life in Skagway and saw a bald eagle catching a fish. Absolutely beautiful experience and a great way to see the gorgeous scenery in a serene setting with a friendly, knowledgeable captain!
