Although this tour can accommodate a collapsible wheelchair, our Skagway Sled Dog tour, it poses more challenges for wheelchair users. The trails throughout camp are uneven natural terrain. The tour consists of a Unimog ride up the mountain to partake in the dog sled portion, which does not accommodate wheelchairs. The guest must be able to ascend the 5 steps in and out of the Unimog and walk short distances in the sled dog area.

For guests with wheelchairs looking to go to the Skagway Musher’s Camp in Skagway, we recommend doing the Skagway Musher's Camp and S'Mores Roasting or Skagway Musher's Camp and Gold Panning, as those both take place at our base camp but do not require the Unimog ride up the mountain.

My 9-year-old grandkids loved the Sled Dog Adventure. The highlight for them was the opportunity to mingle with the dogs, especially the pups.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Skagway Musher's Camp and Sled Dog Adventure, definitely a 5-star experience! Our driver, Patrick, was incredible. He shared so much interesting information about the area as we made our way to the camp and back to town, making the drive just as enjoyable as the rest of the adventure. Once at the camp, the ride up to the sled dog area was so much fun! The sled dogs were incredible, and the ride itself was an exciting and memorable experience for everyone in our group. And to top it off, cuddling with the puppies afterward was a highlight for all of us, especially the kids, they absolutely loved spending time with the pups! This experience is a must-do for anyone visiting Skagway, and we would highly recommend it!

Hold your ap-paws! We had an epic time with Sled Dog Adventure Musher Camp in Skagway, AK! To get up the rugged mountain we embarked on an all-wheel drive Unimog. We were greeted with excited Alaskan Huskies but as soon as they started to run and pull, the dogs were quiet and focused on pulling the wheeled summer sled through a mile-long along a forested trail. After that, we had a staff educating us the history for sled dogs and musher camp and spent some time with adorable puppies as young as 7 days old! 🐶
