Excursion Overview

A perfect opportunity to feel part of the great Alaskan outdoors!

Escape the bustle of Skagway with a relaxing journey to Dyea, a former Gold Rush settlement now part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Enjoy a scenic 10-mile drive along the coast to Dyea Valley, where you may spot harbor seals and bald eagles, and see the start of the historic Chilkoot Trail. Then, drift down the peaceful Taiya River, surrounded by stunning mountain views. Your guide will share local history and wildlife sightings, including bald eagles and the occasional bear. After the float, enjoy a riverside snack while soaking in the serenity of the landscape.

This scenic river float is suitable for most ages and skill levels, with all necessary gear provided. The tour lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours, with 35-45 minutes spent on the river. Groups are kept small (max 11 people), offering a more intimate experience, though larger groups may be split into smaller rafts. A stop at the Skagway scenic overlook, time permitting, offers panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains.
