About Ketchikan:

Known for it’s lumber and booming commercial fishing industry, Ketchikan has been dubbed the Salmon Capitol of the World. The Misty Fjords National Monument is also a large draw for the area and you can experience the beauty and wonder of the Misty Fjords with Flightseeing Tours via Seaplane, commonly called Floatplanes in Alaska. The Misty Fjord Tours are the most popular excursions and best things to do in Ketchikan. If you want to grab a bite to eat as well, there are Flightseeing and Crab Feast tours, which combine the wonders of flying over beautiful and mountainous Ketchikan followed by an unlimited feast of fresh Dungeness crab. Other popular excursions include visits to the Saxman Totem Native Village, famous Lumberjack Show, Tongass National Forest tours, and other more active excursions including kayaking, zipline adventures, and offroad ATV tours.

Ketchikan, the most southeasternmost city in Alaska is also the fifth most populous city in the state with a population of around 8,000 residents. It was established in 1885 by Mike Martin and named after Ketchikan Creek, which flows through the city. During the first half of the 20th century, Ketchikan was infamous for it’s red-light district with brothels on either side of the creek. This area is known as Creek Street and is now home to museums and gift shops.
