Excursion Overview

This family-friendly tour is the perfect blend of scenic tour and Alaska's favorite sport

After meeting your guide, you will board a minibus and begin your journey to the Yukon. As you depart Skagway, your guide will provide a lively driving tour of Skagway's colorful past. Upon exiting town, you'll begin your ride up White Pass where you'll be awed by the breathtaking natural surroundings.

With stops along the way, you'll have a chance to take in the beauty. Stops may include Pitchfork Falls, the Tormented Valley, or Tutshi Lake. Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife like mountain goats, marmots, and the occasional bear.

As you near Tutshi Lake you will enjoy a 45-minute stop at an authentic mushers summer training camp. Here you will join veteran Iditarod and Yukon Quest mushers Michelle Phillips and Ed Hopkins and their friendly, loyal, and well-cared-for Alaskan Huskies at their breathtaking summer mushing camp. While at the camp, you'll experience the thrill of dog mushing as you take a 20-minute ride on a sturdy UTV (side-by-side) pulled by 14 well-trained sled dogs along our stunning mountain vista trail. Your visit will conclude with play and cuddle time with the newest athletes: the puppies.

After your visit, you'll board the minibus and make the short trip to the edge of the Yukon where you will have a chance to take a photo with the 'Welcome to the Yukon' sign. Afterward, you'll retrace your route back to Skagway and enjoy a photo stop or two along the way.

Great experience. We saw a mama bear with two baby bears right by the side of the road on the way there. The dogs were awesome. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained the whole time. Highly recommend.
