Excursion Overview

Enjoy a delicious Dungeness crab feast at the George Inlet Lodge!

Come hungry for what many people consider to be some of the best crab they've ever eaten and a favorite Ketchikan excursion.

The remote location just south of town will only add to your dining pleasure at the rustic, yet elegant, George Inlet Lodge. This historic building was built in the 1940s and once served as an old cannery bunkhouse. When the cannery closed in 1970, two local businessmen undertook the huge job of moving the lodge 90 miles up the George Inlet waterway to its present location at the site of an old gold mine. The lodge's warmth and charm create a relaxing experience that will be the highlight of your Alaskan journey.

Your meal features a salad in homemade Asian dressing to start, steaming hot Dungeness Crab, and a slice of rich, smooth cheesecake, smothered in Alaskan blueberries for dessert. You'll also receive one alcoholic drink and unlimited hot/cold beverages are included.

Last but not least, check out the gift shop for a special souvenir for your trip.

For groups larger than 6, please contact us by email, phone, or chat to check availability—we may be able to accommodate additional guests.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Crabtastic Chaos at George Inlet Lodge! We loved, loved, LOVED the Dungeness crab. Our crew of seven ate like kingsâand possibly a couple of pirates. These weren t your scrawny backyard pond crabs eitherâthese bad boys were meaty, buttery, and so fresh we re convinced they were doing pushups in the kitchen moments before we arrived. Now, let s talk about the Crab Tower Challenge. There s no prize, no plaque, no crab-shaped trophyâ but that didn t stop us from going full Hunger Games with claw carnage and leg stacking. The winner hit 27 inches, and yesâthere was some creative architecture involved (duct tape might ve been discussed). Pro tip: think outside the shell. The steps? Oh, they warn you. Just a few steps, they said. More like 100 calorie-burning, gravity-challenging stepsâ going down is a breeze. Coming back up with a crab baby in your belly and pushing 70? That s a spiritual experience. But we made it. Some with dignity, some clinging to the handrails whispering crab prayers. Bottom line: Worth every buttery drip and breathless step. We re now officially crab snobs. No more blue crabs for usâwe re loyal to the Dungeoness dynasty. 🦀👑

We had such a fantastic time with our family of six enjoying the Feast! The staff there provided lots of great tips on how to enjoy the crab and our table won the prize for stacking our crab legs the highest! Highly recommend this excursion - just make sure not to eat much before you go so you can go nice and hungry!

Pick up was on time and it was a short drive to the lodge. Crab was plentiful and delicious. The cheesecake was really good as well. The tossed salad was pretty basic. Note that there are many steps down to get to the lodge. They do provide a shuttle if you require assistance.
