Ketchikan Adventure Kart Expedition

Sit back, strap yourself in, and hit the accelerator for the off-road adventure of a lifetime! Mountain trails through a timber-harvested area offer the perfect venue for off-road challenges. Learn about the history, culture, and economy of Ketchikan as you are transported by motorcoach to this rainforest wilderness. Experience the rugged Alaskan wilderness from the driver's seat of a specially designed off-road adventure kart.

At the Ketchikan Adventure Kart Expedition base camp, you will receive a safety briefing and gear up in preparation for the exciting, one-and-a-half-hour guided trek. Your caravan of karts sets out to explore the remote backcountry along several miles of improved forest trail, with your guide in the lead ATV.

Feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of your journey as you navigate an obstacle course in a custom-designed Tomcar that tests your ability to traverse through the remaining wilderness. A comfortable pace is maintained as you thread your way around steep curves, climbing to reveal unparalleled views of the Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal, and Alaska's fabled Inside Passage.

Stops are made along the way to soak up the grandeur and beauty of this lush land. Enjoy a snack and beverage, then drivers and passengers have the opportunity to switch positions for the return trip. Be prepared to watch for wildlife along the way where eagles, deer, or bears are frequently sighted.

This was really fun and really awesome! The stop points were nothing short of serene. The most beautiful views out there. Our two guides, forgive me, I don't remember the names, were very knowledgeable and really created an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this to anyone taking a trip to Ketchikan.

Awesome experience! We went as a family of four (with kids aged 9 and 11) and had a great time. Friendly staff (with local knowledge to share during two stops to take in the surroundings). Beautiful scenery and views. And plenty of off-road fun in the karts. You obviously do not push the karts to the limit, but it's still enjoyable for someone looking for excitement and approachable for someone who is unsure.

I would of liked to of had the opportunity to possibly see some wild life. But at the speed we were going at, and the rain in your face there was no way. If you want to race around on a dirt path then this is the adventure for you.

Sep 2017 - Sandra B.

was presently surprised we didn't just get a ride to and from the Karts. Really enjoyed that we were picked up in a smaller vehicle and the driver/guide did more than just take us to the Karts. Karts were fun, wish we could have had a longer time driving the Karts. Next time full raingear, it didn't rain, but pot holes were wet
