Ketchikan Nature Walk & Totem Park Tour

Excursion Overview

Explore Ketchikan’s lush rainforest and Tlingit heritage on this small-group tour.

See Ketchikan through a local’s eyes on this relaxed and engaging nature and culture tour. It starts with a scenic drive along the Tongass Narrows, where your guide brings the town’s history to life with stories and insights as you head toward the rainforest. Once in the Tongass National Forest, the world’s largest temperate rainforest, you’ll enjoy an easy guided walk beneath towering trees and vibrant greenery, learning about the forest’s ecosystem, the role of salmon, and why this wilderness is so vital to Alaska’s wildlife and clean air.

The experience continues at Potlatch Park, where impressive totem poles share the stories of the Tlingit people. You’ll stroll through the park, visit a traditional clan house, and learn how generations passed down culture, skills, and traditions. With a small group, plenty of time for photos, and simple comforts like a cookie and bottled water, this intimate small group tour tour offers a warm, personal way to connect with Ketchikan’s natural beauty and Alaska Native heritage.
