Ketchikan Silverking Lodge Adventure & Seafeast

Guests will begin the tour immediately at the cruise ship dock as you board your motorcoach and enjoy a narrated tour of Ketchikan en route to Clover Pass Resort, one of the oldest operating fishing resorts in the State of Alaska. At Clover Pass, guests will meet their captain and first mate before stepping aboard an open-air, 29-foot aluminum chambered boat. Prepare for a thrilling water adventure as the captain navigates through bays and inlets, while the narrator gives you insights on the land, the air, and the sea.

Aboard the boat, guests will have the opportunity to see the abundant wildlife of southeast Alaska, such as eagles, porpoises, and seals. From May through September, whales are often sighted along the tour route. The tour will make its way by the Back Island Naval Facility and into the heart of Grant Island State Marine Park and Silverking Lodge. Guests will find plenty to do at Silverking Lodge, including viewing the underwater dock camera, and checking out the catches of anglers as they come and go from the lodge. Silverking's exclusive elevated boardwalk trail allows you to walk into the normally difficult-to-access rainforest. Discover its secrets like Old Man's Beard and nursery trees. At the end of the trail, guests will want to be sure to have their cameras ready for the largest known red cedar in the Tongass National Forest.

Then, venture back to the lodge for a seafood boil including Dungeness crab, shrimp, mussels, clams, sausage, corn, garlic, pearl onions, and French bread. Last but not least, a visit to the gift shop where guests can purchase memorabilia and look for their homes to place a pin on the world map.

Please note: Guests must be comfortable walking short distances on uneven surfaces. Wheelchair or scooter assistance is available upon advanced request.

Inclusions: Raingear (i.e. extra rain jackets, pants, hats, and gloves can be provided). A full meal of fresh Dungeness Crab, shrimp, mussels, clams, sausage, corn, garlic, pearl onions, and potatoes. The alternative meal offered for non-seafood eaters is a chicken kabob.

Great tour, guide was friendly and knowledgable, seafood boil was delicious. Only complaint: we were at pickup spot for over half an hour and no one there had a sign out saying name of our tour. At 2:40 we asked another tour person to call the local number for us. Turns out our tour sign person was there but "forgot to hold up silver king lodge seafest sign" we managed to get to right place to board bus but felt bad we had held up the tour

What an enjoyable total experience from pickup to end! I was anxious to book an excursion outside of those offered from our cruise line, but this adventure was highly recommended, so I stepped outside of my comfort zone and booked online. There was absolutely no need for concern as everything was handled expertly. Actually, it ended up being my favorite excursion of the trip. I highly recommend it for the animal sightings and scenery, education about the area, the walk through the woods behind the lodge (pretty magical) and the excellent meal.

This was an AWESOME trip!!! We had a very small window of time to be off of our cruise ship and they were very understanding and made sure we were back to port on time! The eagles were Awesome! Loved the Lodge and the Seafeast but the highlight was the rainforest!!!! What a wonderful surprise that was! We had no idea from the description about the trip that it was a rainforest. Thanx so very much!

A beautiful ride on the lake. Fish boil was yummy, even enough to eat for the non fish lovers . It might be nice to let everyone try and fish off the dock. Saw deer and fawn, came right up to us at the lodge.

This excursion was by far the best adventure. Staff was very friendly and the sea feast was the best of the entire trip - including the ships cuisine. I wish there had been 10 stars for this excursion. Thank you for a wonderful day.

This was a fun and scenic boat ride to an amazing location! Along the way, the guide threw fish out into the water to entice the eagles to swoop down and grab the fish. It was fun to see quite a few eagles. The crab dinner at the lodge was absolutely delicious!! One meal that will stay in our memory for many years to come.

Very cozy excursion with a lot to see and enjoy

May 2018 - Michael B.

Really enjoyed this trip. Jacob was very attentive and ensured we had a great time. He went 'above and beyond' in order for us to see the bald eagles by thowing food to encourage them out of their nest in quite choppy water! Loved seeing the eagles and the seals on our way to Silverking Lodge. This cove is a beautifully calm place. The wood carvings were interesting to see and know the story about them. The boardwalk though a part of the rainforest was also very interesting and relaxing. Again, the scenery was just stunning. Once we were back at the lodge we had a splendid seafood feast (or chicken kebab if you didn't want to eat the crabs). A nice touch was the homemade cookies that Emeri made. enjoyed the folktale about how the salmon got in the lake, Emeri delvered the tale very well. Austin's cooking was delicious too. If you're lucky enough to have Jacob as your guide and Sonny to sail the boat you'll be well looked after too. We would definitely recommend this trip, excellent.
