Juneau Shore Fishing & Gold Creek Salmon Bake Tour

Excursion Overview

Cast, Feast & Explore Alaska!

Designed for cruise ship guests seeking an authentic Alaska experience, this shore excursion combines guided shore fishing, local cuisine, and historic wilderness exploration into one unforgettable adventure. Guests begin by meeting their local guides and getting outfitted with fishing gear, including spin rods, boot-foot waders, and lures, before heading to a scenic shoreline fishing location. Spend approximately two hours fishing for wild Pacific salmon, when seasonally available, as well as Dolly Varden, while learning local fishing techniques and taking in Alaska's stunning coastal scenery. Depending on the time of year, guests may have the opportunity to catch one or more of Alaska's five Pacific salmon species.

After fishing, guests continue to the Gold Creek Salmon Bake for a classic Alaskan dining experience. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat feast featuring grilled salmon, BBQ ribs, baked beans, wild-rice pilaf, au gratin potatoes, fresh salads, sides, beverages, and blueberry cake, all accompanied by live local music in a festive atmosphere.

The adventure continues with a visit to a salmon-spawning creek and the historic Wagner Mine near Salmon Creek waterfall. Guests can try gold panning, explore mining relics, and look for returning salmon while experiencing the natural beauty and traditions of Alaska. This shore excursion offers cruise travelers a memorable way to fish, feast, and discover the authentic spirit of Alaska.

This tour is typically available from May through September. Our excursions were designed for cruise ship passengers but are available to everyone.
