Juneau Craft Beer Tour: Small-Group Brewery Experience with Local Flavors

Join us for a fun-filled, guided Juneau brewery tour that pairs the best beer with Alaskan sights! Explore beyond downtown and dive into Juneau's craft beer scene, all while soaking in the views. Between pours, guests will visit two scenic spots for photos and to enjoy memorable views from their Last Frontier adventure.

Ride in a comfortable 15-passenger van for an intimate, small-group tour, visiting three unique breweries in different Juneau neighborhoods. Raise a glass to the city’s distinctive flavors! Hear captivating stories of Juneau’s history and unique character, all while enjoying the exceptional flavors that make Alaska’s beer scene so special. Cheers!

This tour is typically available from May through mid-October. Our excursions were designed for cruise ship passengers but are available to everyone.

Things You Need to Know

Inclusions:

  • Roundtrip transportation from the cruise ship terminal to 3 local breweries in Juneau
  • 3 curated craft beer flights
  • Light snacks

Requirements:

  • All guests must show proof of age with their government-issued ID at the start of the tour. Guests must be at least 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol.
  • Children 10 years of age or older are permitted to join this tour. Children under 21 years of age must have a parent or guardian present. Proof of guardianship must be provided. Select the non-drinker ticket option.

Duration: Approximately 3.75 hours (Roundtrip from cruise ship terminal)

  • 10 minutes - transportation to the first brewery
  • 45 minutes - guided tasting at the Devil's Club Brewing Company
  • 15 minutes - transportation to the Alaskan Brewing Company
  • 45 minutes - guided tasting at the Alaskan Brewing Company (light snack provided here)
  • 10 minutes - transportation to the scenic viewpoint of the Mendenhall Valley and Glacier (weather permitting)
  • 10 minutes - photos at the scenic viewpoint
  • 5 minutes - transportation to the Forbidden Peak Brewery in Auke Bay
  • 45 minutes - guided beer tasting at Forbidden Peak Brewery
  • 20 minutes - transportation to Juneau's waterfront Whale Statue
  • 10 minutes - photos at the Whale Statue
  • 5 minutes - return transportation back to the cruise ship terminal

Meeting Instructions:

  • This tour meets at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza which is a short walk from the cruise ship terminal. Fully detailed instructions are included on your finalized ticket vouchers.

Yes, all participants will need to show government issued ID at the start of the trip. Guests who do not will not be allowed to participate.

Yes, children over 10 may accompany their parents and guardians. Proof of guardianship must be provided as well as identification.

There will be a scenic stop at the Brotherhood Bridge Park in the Mendenhall Valley which is located on the bank of the Mendenhall River. When the clouds allow for viewing, you'll get one of the best views of the glacier in town! We cannot guarantee that the weather will cooperate.

Yes, this trip brings guests from downtown, to Juneau's midtown (home of the famous Alaskan Brewing Company), to the Mendenhall Valley, and all the way to stunning Auke Bay. On the way back to downtown Juneau you will stop along the shores of the Gastineau Channel for photos at "Tahku" the incredible Whale Statue.

Each brewery offers a great selection of locally crafted non-alcoholic drinks that can be substituted with the adult tasting ticket. Guests who prefer can also choose a non-drinker ticket and purchase their own beverages during the tour. Either way, it’s a wonderful way to see Juneau beyond downtown and experience its local character.

Yes, guests will get a tasting flight at each brewery stop. Each flight is equivalent to one beer. Guests may purchase other beers and beverages. The State of Alaska does limit the ounces of beer that individuals may purchase at each brewery.
