Excursion Overview

Juneau Rainforest & Coastal Feast Experience

Discover Alaska through its forests, shoreline, stories, and flavors on this immersive Juneau rainforest and culinary experience. The journey begins with breathtaking views of the Mendenhall Glacier and the surrounding mountains before guests venture into the heart of Southeast Alaska’s temperate rainforest. Beneath towering Sitka spruce and western hemlock trees, a local guide shares the rich history of the land and the deep connection Indigenous peoples have had with these forests and coastal waters for thousands of years. Along the way, guests learn about native plants, traditional harvesting practices, and the restorative qualities of the rainforest, with opportunities to sample wild blueberries during the summer season.

As the forest opens to the shoreline, guests are invited to slow down and experience Alaska through all their senses. Surrounded by the sounds of waves, birds, and the fresh coastal air, the experience includes a gentle guided mindfulness meditation designed to encourage connection with nature and the present moment. The journey concludes with a comforting meal prepared by a local chef featuring locally sourced salmon chowder, fresh seasonal salad, and ingredients inspired by Alaska’s coastal bounty. More than just a Juneau shore excursion, this experience offers an authentic and meaningful way to connect with Alaska’s landscapes, culture, and spirit.

This tour is typically available from May through September. Our excursions were designed for cruise ship passengers but are available to everyone.

The tour was amazing. The rainforest is an amazing place and Cindee is very knowledgeable about the plants an the wildlife. The beach she guided us to was magical with a beautiful view. The ideal place to ground yourself, be connected with nature, calm down, relax and breathe. Back in town, she treated us to a lovely lunch in the Crystal, where Ivan, the chef prepared a wonderful vegan dish just for us. We totally recommend this experience.
