Excursion Overview

Skagway adventure hike with mesmerizing viewpoints

Hike Porcupine Mountain trailhead on a guided journey through the Tongass Rainforest. Immerse yourself in the incredible scenery of beautiful, Southeast Alaska. Head out of town on a historic driving tour of downtown Skagway as you continue along the Klondike Highway. Your guide will regale you with the local history of the Klondike Gold Rush and the natural history of the area.

Upon arrival at the trailhead and a safety briefing, grab your trekking poles and begin the ascent. Spend close to two hours surrounded by the snow-capped mountains of the White Pass. Your expert guide will stop to share their knowledge about the native flora, fauna, and to describe the amazing glacial history of Alaska.

Midway through the hike, enjoy a rest at the final breathtaking overlook. Enjoy trail mix, water, and hot cocoa as you take in the sights of the Skagway Valley, White Pass, and Lynn Canal. The trail is uneven, natural terrain. Exposed roots, rocks, and sometimes slippery/muddy sections will be found. Hand lines are available in certain sections to help with getting up and down some steeper parts of the trail.

This tour is set up to embrace Southeast Alaska's unpredictable weather and typically runs rain or shine. In the rare instance weather does cause a cancellation, guests are refunded in full.
