Seward Tonsina Point Kayak Tour

Excursion Overview

Kayak in the Glacial-fed bay of Tonsina Point

Experience the Tonsina Point Kayak trip, the perfect introduction to sea kayaking! Resurrection Bay is a wildlife-rich, glacial-fed bay renowned for its calm waters and breathtaking views.

The adventure begins at the tour provider's office, where participants will meet their kayak-certified guide, who will ensure everyone is fully equipped and ready for the journey ahead. After loading into vans, the group will head to Lowell Point Beach, located at the southern end of Seward. During the drive, there will be an opportunity to catch a first glimpse of the bay while passing through Historic Seward.

Upon arrival at the beach, the guide will conduct a safety briefing and help familiarize everyone with their gear before launching into the water.

Throughout the journey, knowledgeable guides will share fascinating insights about the local flora and fauna, geology, glaciology, and the history of Seward, along with the wildlife that may be encountered. Guides have the flexibility to tailor the trip to ensure the best experience for the group, deciding whether to spend the entire time on the water exploring the coastline or to land at Tonsina Point for a walk through the coastal forest or along the beach!

Please Note: There are two different departure times for this tour, a morning departure and an evening departure. The morning tour is rated as an easy kayak tour and the evening tour is rated moderate as it is more strenuous.
