Juneau Alpine Zipline Adventure

Of all of the amazing ways to experience the rainforest, one of the most exciting is to fly through the trees on an Alaska zipline tour! The Tongass National Rainforest offers breathtaking views and with this Juneau excursion, you'll be able to take them in from the treetops!

The excursion begins with a drive up to the Eaglecrest Ski Area, on Douglas Island, which doubles as a zipline course in the summer months. Your driver will provide history and commentary on the way from downtown all the way up to the zipline base and summer ski lodge. There, you will be met by our friendly staff, who will outfit you in all the necessary gear and provide your safety briefings. You'll start with a practice run to make sure you are comfortable before heading out on this Juneau Alpine zipline course.

Each zipline will land you in a treehouse platform, where you will have time to capture the best moments and scenery with your camera. Indulge in delicious blueberry tea while your guide tells you all about what you are seeing, provides you with history and stories, and answers any questions you may have about the area. The ziplines are only one of the many fun adventures on this excursion.

Toward the end of the trip, your group will traverse over a suspension bridge while looking down at a salmon spawning stream. Then, get your inner lumberjack ready, because you'll have the chance to try your hand at ax-throwing! This activity is suitable and available to both children and adults.

At the end of the excursion, you will have more time to relax at the ski lodge with a snack and a slideshow of all the photos from the day. Local beer and souvenirs are available for purchase in the shop. This tour is a memory-maker for those of all ages!

Great time Ziplining! Just as directed we met our tour host as promised. We had a group of 4 which is a perfect number. Our two guides were fantastic and all had a great time. Beautiful forest in which to glide, wish it could have gone on all day.

So fun! Lila and Andrew were great and the ax throwing was a blast

WHEEEEEEEEEE! Of the three excursions we took this was our favorite. The harnesses felt secure, but were a little uncomfortable to begin with. The thrill of flying through the canopy from tree top to tree top was awesome. We wish we had more time throwing the lumberjack axes, but what we did get was very fun. Our guides were very safety conscious without losing the thrill of the experience. I had no trouble getting some excellent 4K video while zipping between the trees. The guide even loaned me a safety harness for my camera.

Had a fantastic time.

I really enjoyed the experience. The guides were great, at making everyone feel comfortable and safe, as well as having great energy. In some descriptions I had read prior to booking this excursion, I remember it saying we'd get to sip on blueberry tea-which didn't happen. I appreciate the granola bar at the end, but some sort of beverage, even a bottle of water, would have been appreciated. I had also read that the long bus ride to the site would be narrated, pointing out things and giving history along the way, which also didn't happen. Not big things, but things I was expecting, so it was a little disappointing. Overall, it was a smooth, enjoyable experience!!

We had two wonderful tour guides and the ziplines were fun and beautiful. This was probably our best excursion out of all we did. The additional bonus of ax throwing was great. This was lots of fun.

If you have never been zipping, this probably would be fun. However, I have been ziplining many times and the scenery and thrill were better at other places. We did enjoy it and the people were terrific.

Aug 2018 - Christen M.

Ziplining was fun, the guides were great! The views were beautiful. Axe throwing was fun, it would have been nice to have a bit more time to learn how to do iyer but it was a great experience.

Aug 2018 - Charles R.

The staff were knowledgeable and friendly but the course was a little short to receive a better review.

Aug 2018 - MICHELLE E.

Great fun! We weren't sure what to expect with this experience but it was the perfect combination of adventure (high above the ground with several ziplines to do) and support (the guides break for you and help you at each platform).
