Come meet the Alaskan Huskies on an adventure into the extraordinary Kenai Fjords National Park towards Exit Glacier. Before heading out, you will gear up and meet your real Alaskan racing huskies. All gear is provided by your tour team.

The beautiful winter landscapes make for incredible photo stops along the way. Enjoy a small group, hands-on tour, and learn all about how the dogs train and prepare for races like the 1,000-mile Iditarod. Drive or sit in the sled with one of your guides and take on Alaska's state sport for yourself.

Please note, this tour departs from Wasilla, Alaska which is approximately a 60 minute drive form downtown Anchorage. This tour runs from December to early March.

Things You Need to Know

Inclusions:

  • Epic mushing journey along the Historic Iditarod Trail departing from the Knik Historic Mushing District in Wasilla, Alaska.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 passengers required to book
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Young children must hold the hand of a parent/guardian during the duration of the tour
  • Participants must sign a liability waiver (parent must sign for minors)

Duration: 3 hours (Roundtrip from Wasilla, Alaska)

  • 25 minutes - gear up and safety briefing
  • 60-90 minutes - dog sledding
  • 30-45 minutes - photo stops and opportunities to meet the dogs
  • 20 minutes - de-gear

Meeting Instructions:

  • This tour meets either at the tour operator's office in Wasilla, Alaska. Transportation from Anchorage may be available upon request. Fully detailed instructions are included on your finalized ticket vouchers.

On this tour you will get close enough to take photos but not be able to walk on the glacier or touch the glacier during the tour.

Yes. Under the supervision of our guides, we invite you to pet and play with our dogs as they love human interaction.

Layers are key! We provide gear but to dress appropriately, please have a warm hat that covers your ears. Neck gaiters are sometimes easier than a scarf. Base layers like long underwear/leggings. Windproof gloves or mittens. Please let us know if you have questions on how to dress.
