While riding an electric bicycle is easier than a standard bike, you will need to know how to ride a bike before joining us on tour.

Guests have access to approximately 14 miles of road, allowing them to ride from one end to the other without issue. The bikes provide ample battery life for exploring, though actual range may vary based on riding style, pedal-assist usage, weight, and terrain. If a battery drops below 20%, guests are encouraged to contact the team, who will meet them on the route and provide a fresh replacement.

The e-bikes are just like regular bikes, but with an electric motor that adds a boost of assistance while pedaling. This is adjustable depending on how hard you want to pedal or how fast you want to go. The assist will give you a nice boost while riding against the wind or going uphill.

Yes! Prior to embarking on your bikes, we will provide a safety briefing and make sure you understand how to use your e-bike.

Your guides check the weather forecast the night before each tour to make sure it is safe to ride. Keep in mind that this is Alaska and drizzling rain is a common thing. A light rain will not postpone your tour. Bring a raincoat and enjoy the experience! If the tour provide does cancel the tour due to weather conditions, a full refunded will be granted.

Local staff provide trail maps and guidance to help guests plan their self-guided adventure. Sitka is full of hidden gems, and the e-bikes allow riders to create a custom tour based on their interests. Popular destinations include Whale Park, Herring Cove Trail, Halibut Point Recreation Site, Indian River Trail, Sandy Beach, Cross Trail, Fortress of the Bear, and the Alaska Raptor Center.

Bathrooms are available at several stops along the route. Guests should check with the local team when picking up their rental for the best locations.

E-bike renters must be age 16+ per state law. Our bikes are step-through and robust, making them perfect for 5'2 to 6'4 riders and weights up to 325 lbs.

Yes! Sitka Courtesy Shuttle: To reduce wait times, all guests are now required to book their complimentary shuttle to downtown Sitka in advance! Please reserve your shuttle at least one hour before your scheduled tour departure to allow enough time for check-in and to ensure you're ready for your tour.
