Seward Helicopter Alpine Hiking Adventure

Excursion Overview

Land Where Few Have Stood: Helicopter Hiking in the Heart of Kenai Fjords

Far from the well-worn trails of Seward, the adventure begins with the steady thrum of helicopter blades lifting off into Alaska’s vast wilderness. Below, Kenai Fjords National Park unfolds in dramatic layers—towering peaks, the endless white of the Harding Icefield, and the deep blue waters of Resurrection Bay carved by ancient glaciers. As you soar above alpine ridges and tidewater ice, there’s time to spot mountain goats perched impossibly high, sea lions resting along the coast, and, if luck allows, whales breaking the surface. This flightseeing journey carries you to a place few ever reach, a remote landscape accessible only by air.

Once on the ground, the pace slows and the real connection begins. Guided by seasoned experts, hikers explore a high alpine ridge or secluded beach, choosing a route that matches their comfort level and curiosity. The terrain is wild, quiet, and immersive, no crowds, just expansive views, fresh air, and the freedom to move at your own pace. With a moderate activity level, a 3 to 3.5 hour guided hike, lunch provided, and seamless transfers from Seward, this Seward heli hiking adventure tells a story of discovery, solitude, and Alaska as it was meant to be experienced.

This tour is typically available from May through September. Our excursions were designed for cruise ship passengers but are available to everyone.
