Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Tour

Excursion Overview

Experience the thrill of catching Pacific salmon in the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska

Embark on a thrilling fishing adventure, perfect for those who want to refine their skills and learn the art of salmon fishing in Southeast Alaska. Departing from a private marina in downtown Ketchikan, the experience offers a full day of hands-on instruction in techniques such as trolling, jigging, and mooching. With a maximum of four guests per trip, each angler will have their own rod to use. By the end of the day, you'll have a clear understanding of the various tools and methods, including how to identify spoons and hoochies. Depending on the season, you'll target king, coho, or pink salmon.

Salmon fishing in Alaska is tightly linked to the annual migration of fish from the Gulf of Alaska, with each of the five species available only during specific times. The tour is guided by expert locals who stay informed on where the fish are, their depth, and which baits are working best. If the salmon aren’t biting, there’s also the opportunity to pursue halibut or other bottom fish, ensuring a full day of fishing action.

The peak salmon season, from June 15th to August 15th, offers the best chances for catching multiple species of salmon. With years of experience, the local fishing guides are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and gear to help you succeed, whether you're a first-timer or an experienced angler. The captain will provide tailored advice on the most effective techniques and species to target, making this the ideal fishing trip for any level of fisherman.
