Learn about Alaska's official state sport and experience a thrilling ride through the forest. Your excursion begins with a scenic drive along the Gastineau Channel and into the Ship Creek Valley.

When you arrive at the summer dog camp, you will hear the excited yips and barks as the dogs greet you! Before you embark on your dogsled ride, tour the camp and learn about the history of dogsledding. You will also have the opportunity to visit a 19th-century replica of an Iditarod Outpost.

Next, climb aboard a wheeled training cart and relax as your team of Alaska Huskies pulls you through the rainforest! Enjoy each and every moment of the 1.5-mile dog sled adventure before arriving back at the sled dog camp.

Once back at the camp, you will have a chance to snuggle with the puppies! Be sure to have your camera ready for some fantastic photo opportunities. After a quick meet and greet with the puppies, your guide will transport you back to downtown Juneau.

Juneau Dog Sled Summer Camp is a great excursion to experience these working dogs doing what they love to do. From the time they picked us up at the port to the sled ride this excursion was everything we expected and more. The tour guides were very informative and provided a great experience on the sled with the dogs. The dogs are very eager to give you an exciting ride through the woods. Although, for me the most enjoyable moment of this excursion was holding and playing with the puppies. I highly recommend his tour for a true Alaskan experience.

The Girl Scouts loved the sled Dog Summer Camp. Especially the puppies and meeting the dogs. The ride was fun too. The rain and mud that day didn't put a damper on any of it. THanks

We really enjoyed the tour we took with Alaska Shore Excursions. We have three kids and they loved it. The tour guide was wonderful. She explained everything in detail. The highlight was being able to play with the puppies. Our toddlers loved it.
