At the Alaska Native Heritage Center, you’ll have the opportunity to explore and learn about the Indigenous Peoples of Alaska. Wander through the exhibits, take a stroll around the lake, and view the various types of housing used by Native Alaskans. Enjoy cultural demonstrations featuring storytelling, singing, dancing, and Native Games.

After your visit to the Native Heritage Center, you’ll take a short trip back to downtown.

Things You Need to Know

Requirements:

  • Guests should be capable of either stepping up into the transit van or climbing four steps to enter and exit the motorcoach. The Alaska Native Heritage Center is available for guests to explore at their own pace.
  • All ages are welcome! Children 2 and under who will sit on your lap are free.

Duration: 3 hours (This tour meets in front of the Old City Hall and Log Cabin visitor center)

  • 1.25 hours - Narrated city tour of Anchorage
  • 15 minutes - scenic picture stop
  • 1.25 hours - self-guided tour of Alaska Native Heritage Center

Meeting Instructions:

  • This tour meets in front of the Old City Hall and Log Cabin visitor center. Fully detailed instructions are included on your finalized ticket voucher.

ADA Accessibility of Tour:

  • This tour is limited mobility accessible. Guests must be able to climb three steps into and out of the bus. There is limited space for collapsible wheelchairs and walkers. There is no storage available for motorized scooters. Please leave a comment during checkout if accommodations for collapsible equipment will be required on tour.

The transit van can accommodate up to 15 passengers. For larger groups, a 50-passenger motorcoach is utilized.

There will be an experienced driver providing guided tour narration. Whether you are looking for a fully narrated tour or a more laid-back experience, please leave a comment at checkout! We would love to pair a driver that best suits your needs.

Car seats are not provided for this tour. Renting a car seat or bringing your own would be the best option.
