  • Please note that some of the stops along the tour are not paved. Guests must be able to climb two steps into and out of the tour vans.

  • This tour is limited mobility accessible. Guests must be able to climb 2 steps into and out of the tour van. Please note that some of the stops along the tour are not paved. There is limited space for collapsible wheelchairs and walkers. There is no storage available for motorized scooters/wheelchairs. Please leave a comment during checkout if accommodations for collapsible equipment will be required on tour. If the operator is unaware beforehand of necessary accommodations, they may not be able to accommodate guests day of.

Guests must be able to climb 2 steps into and out of the tour van. If you are comfortable getting in and out of the tour van, our tour provider can accommodate guests with collapsible wheelchairs/walkers.

The tour will only require at most 10 minutes of walking. At the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, your guide can pull up to the enclosures and guests can see many animals through the large windows. Other times, guests choose to walk and stretch their legs so they can get closer to view the animals. The van is always available. In case of inclement weather, it’s always possible to jump in and out of the van.

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is home to a large variety of brown bear, black bear, moose, caribou, wolves, musk ox, lynx, and wood bison. You might see many or most of these when you visit. Guides are also always on the lookout for wild animals during the day. Common sightings include moose, black bears and bald eagles.

Expect temperatures ranging from the mid 50’s to the mid 70’s F (10 - 25 C), or warmer.

It is recommended to dress in layers and always prepare for rain and wind. There is plenty of room in the vans to bring an extra jacket and hat. It’s always advisable to wear sunglasses and bring along sunscreen and insect repellent.
