Sitka Coastal Expedition & Fin Island Lodge Feast

Excursion Overview

Small-Group Sitka Wildlife Cruise & Fin Island Lodge Feast

Board you open-air expedition vessel for a wildlife journey designed to feel personal, unhurried, and deeply connected to Alaska’s coastal wilderness. With an experienced captain, the vessel slips through narrow channels, hidden coves, and shallow-water passages that larger boats simply cannot access. This closer-to-the-water perspective creates rare opportunities to observe Sitka’s thriving marine ecosystem, from drifting sea otters and playful porpoises to breaching humpback whales, orcas, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, and even coastal brown bears along the shoreline.

The adventure continues to Fin Island Lodge, a private island sanctuary where the small group setting carries into a shared, fireside-style coastal experience. Guests step ashore to sweeping views of Sitka Sound and a warm welcome rooted in true Alaskan hospitality. A freshly prepared feast awaits...Alaska crab, wild salmon grilled over alder wood, and prime rib, served in an intimate lodge setting that feels more like a gathering of explorers than a typical tour group. After the feast, guests can wander the beach, relax beside a crackling fire, and take in the quiet rhythm of the island, completing a uniquely personal Sitka Sound expedition.

This tour is typically available from May through September. Our excursions are designed for cruise ship passengers but are open to all guests!
