Excursion Overview

Witness the return of gray whales to Alaska waters

Gray whales migrate thousands of miles from Baja to their feeding grounds in Alaska each year! Following the coastline, the gray whales arrive in the spring to spend their summer feeding in the Arctic Waters.

Join our experienced crew for a boat ride through Resurrection Bay to the Gulf of Alaska in search of some hungry migrating whales. Your captains will teach you all about their interesting social behaviors, attitudes, and feeding techniques of not only the returning gray whales but about all of the local flora and fauna.

In addition to gray whales, watch for Steller sea lions, sea otters, DallÃs porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, and other whales including humpbacks and orcas. Occasionally, you will see mountain goats with their newly born kids and black bears foraging along the coastline of Resurrection Bay.

Don't forget to wear warm, waterproof layers so you can spend plenty of time on the outer decks! Complimentary coffee, tea, and water. Additional snacks and beverages are available for purchase.

Please note: This tour only runs from March to May. Whale watching boat is not wheelchair accessible.

Very nice and comfortable boat. We liked the assigned seating. Water, coffee, and tea were free and a small bar was available for those who wanted it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The narrator for the tour was very good. We saw a number of whales, Stellar Sea Lions, mountain goats, and a pod of orcas. A very good value compared to the cruise ship prices.

The perfect cruise, not too long, and excellent boat/crew. The experience from start to finish was wonderful. Of course, the weather cooperated, low wind, beautiful clear skies and not many waves/chop. The crew ensured we saw as much as we could, and the pod of 15-20 Orca was the cherry on top! A bit early in March for Grey Whales/Humpbacks, but otherwise magical! Highly recommend and can't wait for a 6-8 hour tour! We will return!
