Ketchikan Tlingit Formline Craft, Cultural Showcase, & Culinary Tasting

Excursion Overview

Discover the rich traditions and vibrant flavors of Alaska with this unique experience

Embark on a one-of-a-kind adventure that combines a hands-on native craft experience, a delicious culinary tasting, and a guided tour of Saxman Native Village. Learn the art of Tlingit formline drawing from a local artist and create your own native ornament. Choose from a raven, eagle, or salmon template, and paint them using authentic, vibrant colors.

Treat your taste buds to an unforgettable journey through Alaskan flavors! Enjoy a tasting flight featuring four unique beverages—craft beer, fine wine, or quirky craft soda—and savor a selection of local delicacies, including reindeer sausage, kelp pickles, smoked salmon dip, and other delightful treats, all prepared with a creative twist.

The experience also includes a cultural showcase of Alaska Native art, clothing, and tools, including traditional hand-carved works by Master Carver Nathan Jackson and other artifacts from the original Village of Cape Fox. Your local guide will share Tlingit customs, traditions, and stories passed down by the Elders as you explore the exhibits and totem park. The grand finale will be a live performance by the Cape Fox dancers, who will bring Tlingit songs and dances to life in the Beaver Clan House.
