Ketchikan, the southeasternmost city in Alaska, is also the state's fifth-most populous city, with a population of around 8,000. It was established in 1885 by Mike Martin and named after Ketchikan Creek, which flows through the city. During the first half of the 20th century, Ketchikan was infamous for its red-light district with brothels on either side of the creek. This area, known as “Creek Street,” is now home to museums and gift shops.
The reviews were right on this one - it was awesome! The crew has over 100 years of real crab fishing experience and they shared some super interesting stories about their lives and crab fishing. Got to see all sorts of wildlife, including a spectacular view of eagles diving into the water (which I think happens on every trip) - would 100% recommend!

My family and I visited Alaska for the first time in July. The Rainforest Sanctuary was absolutely beautiful! The rainforest is untouched and serene. Our tour guide, a wonderful young lady, was so knowledgeable and friendly. She really made the experience that much better. We were able to see the Banana Slug, fresh bear markings but the most remarkable thing was seeing a family of black bears just feet away from us. I would highly recommend this tour and definitely get the Gin and spruce drink at the end. It was incredible!

What can I say! This was FANTASTIC!!! I have NEVER eaten so much crab in my life! The servers were great and very enthusiastic! I walked (or should I say waddled) out feeling stuffed, but fully satisfied! Great excursion and I would HIGHLY recommend this excursion to anyone who likes crab!

The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and shared stories about Ketchikan's history. Headphones were provided to help with hearing during the tour, and boat was equipped with comfortable seating. Water was a little choppy but otherwise a very pleasant ride. The hike to the bear-viewing platform was easy, and we were lucky enough to see two bears during the tour, hunting for fish.
