Things You Need to Know

Inclusions:

  • Pick up/drop off within the city limits of Fairbanks or North Pole
  • Snacks and water
  • Cross the Arctic Circle certificate

Requirements:

  • This tour is not recommended for children under 10.
  • Not recommended for guests with back, hip, or knee problems
  • A minimum of 3 people is required to run the tour. If minimum numbers are not met, you will be offered either an alternative tour date or a full refund.

Duration: 5.5 hours (Includes roundtrip transportation from local hotels in the Fairbanks area)

  • Pick up from local hotel within Fairbanks or North Pole city limits starting at 10 pm.
  • 30 minutes- driving to the Murphy Dome
  • 3-4 hours- Northern Lights viewing at the Murphy Dome
  • 30 minutes- driving back to Fairbanks
  • Return transportation to local hotels by 3 am

While wildlife is not guaranteed, it is not uncommon to spot wildlife on this tour.

There are no bathrooms at this location, but we do carry spare toilet paper in case of emergencies.

The road to Murphy Dome can get icy and slippery making access to the top difficult. If the guide determines that attempting to drive to the summit of Murphy Dome is hazardous, you will be taken to an alternative location to view the northern lights.

It will be cold. It is recommended that you wear snow pants, coats, gloves/mittens, hats & boots.
