Excursion Overview

Come explore the highlights of historic Skagway!

Depart on a small group bus tour to explore the historic district of downtown Skagway. Home to some 33 original buildings straight out of the Gold Rush era dating back to the late 1800s. After a crash course on Skagway's rich history, a drive up the mountain summit begins.

This drive is a feast for the eyes as you take in the mountain vistas, waterfalls, and natural splendors. The Yukon route will have you traveling in the footsteps of the Gold Rushers! Your guide will share stories of this grueling trek made by Gold Rushers as well as natural history specific to the area.

After the drive to the top, seeing the boarder of USA and Canada, and taking memory making photos at the "Welcome to Alaska" Sign, your journey continues back down the Klondike Highway as you make your way to the Gold Rush Cemetery. If you so choose, this is your chance to hike to a beautiful waterfall and hear what unique aspects the cemetery holds. The Cemetery recognizes the perils of Skagway with heroes and villains alike buried here.

At the conclusion of your bus tour, your guide will take you back into town and guests will have the option of returning to town or ship. Please note that stops may change depending on weather or traffic. Passports are required for this excursion. While you do not travel into Canada, you will cross through the USA border control and will need to treat the crossing as if you have left the country.

Marissa was a great tour guide! Very clear, interesting information. Comfortable bus, great driver, fair price. We had time to go to the Cemetery, and tour the town. Highly recommend this 2.5 hr tour.
