Icy Strait Private River Fishing and Bear Search Tour

Excursion Overview

Explore Icy Strait on a Private Alaska River Fishing & Wildlife Tour

Experience a private off-the-beaten-path fishing adventure along the remote riverbanks of Icy Strait. Your guide will lead you through the Tlingit village of Hoonah and along old logging roads into a true “last frontier” setting where wildlife thrives. Slip into your waders and cast for salmon or trout using provided fly or spinning rods. Whether you’re new to fishing or experienced, your guide is there to offer instruction as needed. The quiet of the wilderness, combined with the chance to spot local wildlife, makes this a uniquely immersive Alaskan experience.

While wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, the island is known for having one of the highest densities of brown bears in the world. As you fish, hike, and explore, your private guide will ensure a safe and memorable outing. Please note that this tour is strictly catch-and-release. A State of Alaska non-resident one-day sport fishing license is required for all guests ages 16 and older and must be purchased in advance of the tour. King salmon stamps are not required.
