Chilkat Valley EBike Adventure

Excursion Overview

Ride from historic Fort Seward to the wild shoreline of the Chilkat Valley

Set out on a scenic guided E-bike tour through the historic and natural landscapes surrounding Haines, Alaska. The ride begins at the bike shop and climbs into the historic grounds of Fort Seward, where guests pause to explore and learn about the area’s military and local history. After taking in the historic setting, the route descends toward the expansive mud flats of the Chilkat Valley, where riders can enjoy a peaceful walk along the shoreline and feel the cool breeze flowing down the glacial valley. The rich ecosystem here often provides opportunities to spot wildlife such as bald eagles, coastal brown bears, and even marine mammals feeding on salmon.

The return ride winds through a quiet rainforest neighborhood where local residents have created unique homesteads tucked among towering trees. Before heading back to town, the tour stops at a scenic viewpoint overlooking Haines Harbor, offering sweeping views of the waterfront and the dramatic peaks of the Cathedral Mountains rising above the community. This relaxed and scenic ride combines history, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery for a memorable way to experience the beauty of Southeast Alaska.

This tour is typically available from May through August. Our excursions were designed for cruise ship passengers but are available to everyone.
