Golden hour whale watching in beautiful Vancouver, B.C.

From June to September each year, guests have the opportunity to join a sunset whale-watching expedition. Hop aboard a well-equipped catamaran with an incredible viewing platform and panoramic views of Vancouver and the surrounding area.

Depart by catamaran from the Granville Island Adventure Centre. Set out in search of whale sightings as well as local marine and wildlife. Humpback whales, orca whales, sea lions, bald eagles, and seals are examples of what you could see on this 4-5 hour adventure.

Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with snacks available for purchase on the catamaran. Learn about the sustainability efforts of your local team and how responsible and safe whale watching aids in the sustainability of the local waters.

Cruise ship guests, please be advised this tour departs from the Granville Island Adventure Centre and you will need to secure your own transportation to the meeting location.

Meeting Instructions:

  • This tour meets 30 minutes before the scheduled tour time at the Granville Island Adventure Centre. Roundtrip transportation from the cruise ship pier is not included. Taxis, Uber, Lyft, and public transportation are recommended for the short journey. Fully detailed instructions are included on your finalized ticket voucher.

ADA Accessibility of Tour:

  • This tour is limited mobility accessible. The catamaran is not wheelchair accessible. There is limited space for collapsible wheelchairs and walkers. Guests must be comfortable moving, unaided for a short distance. Please leave a comment during checkout if accommodations for collapsible equipment will be required on tour.

Guests are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and/or a coffee tumbler for free refills. It’s a good idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a tight-fitting hat, a camera to capture some memorable moments and, above all, your sense of adventure!

Yes. The catamarans are equipped with 2 airline-style washrooms.

Service dogs are welcome aboard. Dogs must have a medical note from a physician or doctor or qualified medical practitioner, as well as wear appropriate identification. This policy does not extend to therapy or emotional support dogs.
