Experience the natural wonders that surround Sitka, Alaska with a true Sitkan guide. Your experienced and local Captain will expertly guide you around the Alaskan waters. Hop aboard your charter in search of humpback and Orca whales, sea otters, Steller sea lions, bald eagles, and even the occasional brown bear or puffin while cruising the Sitka Sound.
Sitka Sound is a body of water with a rich history of maritime fur trade. It is bordered by Baranof Island to the south and the northeast, by Kruzof Island to the northwest, and by the Pacific Ocean to the southwest.
While in search of Alaskan wildlife, the 2.5-hour boat tour allows for an up-close viewing experience of three unique Alaskan Ecosystems: Rain Forest, Ocean Marine, and Outer Coast Kelp Forest. Enjoy breathtaking views from a heated, comfortable cabin, with a private bathroom, all the while cozying up with healthy snacks and beverages.
Wildlife guidebooks, binoculars, and umbrellas are provided. Dress for cool weather and possible rain. Rain pants and raincoats are encouraged. Maximum of 6 guests per charter.

ADA Accessibility of Tour:
- This tour is limited mobility accessible. Guests must be able to climb 4 steps into and out of the boat. There is limited space for collapsible wheelchairs and walkers. There is no storage available for motorized scooters. Please leave a comment during checkout if accommodations for collapsible equipment will be required on tour.

There is a maximum capacity of 6 guests.
What marine wildlife will I see on the tour?
Bald eagles, sea otters, whales, and stellar sea lions are common sights, however, seeing all marine wildlife is not guaranteed.
What is the seating arrangement in the boat?
Every boat has open seating as well as outside viewing areas when permitted.
Are restrooms available?
Yes, restrooms are available on the boat.
Is there an inside seating area on the boat, is it heated?
The interior of the boat is heated when needed due to weather conditions to keep a comfortable environment.
How close can we get to the whales?
Humpback whales and other sea animals are protected species and a safe distance of at least 100 yards must be maintained at all times according to NOAA regulations.
Are there any age restrictions for children?
There are no age restrictions for this tour.
Are there any weight restrictions for guests?
The maximum weight to participate in this excursion is 300 lbs.
Can I bring a backpack?
Backpacks, small bags, and purses are allowed on this tour.
Can I bring my own food or drink?
Non-alcoholic beverages in closeable containers and snacks are allowed on tour.
Are food and drink included?
Bottled water and a healthy/gluten-free snack are included.
What if I get seasick while on the excursion?
Please take necessary precautions before departing on the boat. If you feel sick, please alert the captain and they will guide the boat to calmer waters. Ginger chews, sea bands, and water bottles provided.

Captain Rick was awesome! He was super friendly and made sure we all had a binocular. He's also very patient with my kiddo. We went to another whale watching excursion in Juneau and he prefers Captain Rick. I like him being a local who knows everything I asked about Sitka.
