Requirements:

  • Guests must check-in at least 15 minutes prior to departure.
  • Roundtrip transportation is not included. Guests are encouraged to rent a car to explore Fairbanks at their own pace. Many local hotels also offer shuttles to the gold panning site, check with your hotel front desk for options. Taxis and local shuttle services are additional alternatives.
  • Guests are advised to wear layers as a portion of the tour is outdoors. The train is open air and has a roof.

  • This tour meets at the local office located about 25 minutes outside of Fairbanks on the Old Steese Highway. Fully detailed instructions are included on your finalized ticket vouchers.

Access to the dredge may vary depending on weather conditions, but guests on the tour will be accommodated whenever it is safe and possible.

Guests are advised to arrive at Gold Dredge 8 at least 15 minutes before their departure time. Upon arrival, they should check in at the train station in the parking lot to pick up their boarding passes.

Seating on the train is first come, first served. Each car is equipped with a monitor showing a live broadcast and additional information for guests to enjoy during the ride.
